JOB TITLE: Family Treatment Court Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Assistant Court Administrator/Team Lead
STATUS: FLSA NON-EXEMPT
HOURS: 32-40 hours as assigned
SALARY: $20.00/hour; negotiable based on education and experience
RESPONSIBILITIES: The coordinator is responsible for the supervision, monitoring, .and counseling of participants of the Family Treatment Court (FTC). The coordinator interviews FTC participants regarding any and all matters pertaining to behavior; makes referrals to appropriate agencies and follows up with agencies; acts as bailiff as needed; maintains statistics and records regarding cases; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with social service agency personnel, administrators of detention, incarceration, residential treatment facilities; strong understanding of addiction and recovery and successful interventions, provides public speaking engagements as directed; participates in community activities to support health of the community and individual recovery; assists with development of new programming. The coordinator will be required to work some evening hours.
The coordinator will assist with identifying potential Family Treatment Court participants and will verify legal eligibility screening requirements are met, maintain the daily operation of Family Treatment Court, including organizing court, events and meetings and facilitating communication between treatment team members, provide supervision of the participant’s involvement in FTC, including meetings and telephone contact with the participant, monitoring compliance with screening requirements and assisting with the establishment of treatment services, provide updates on the participant during the treatment team meeting and participate in discussions regarding incentives, sanctions, phase advancement, completion and termination.
The coordinator collects and maintains participant statistical information, and collects data from service providers for review and submission to funding sources, plans and facilitates advisory committee meetings, and coordinates specialized docket continuing education.

TYPICAL TASKS: Conduct eligibility determinations for legal and clinical standard, write reports to Judicial officials with updates, identifying strengths and barriers and recommendations, organize and attend FTC treatment team meetings and attend court hearings, conduct home visits, office visits and other collateral visits with FTC participants, engage potential FTC participants and ensure program success, assist with developing new programming and services for FTC including assisting with identifying and applying for grant opportunities, document FTC participant progress.
REQUIREMENTS: The court prefers that the FTC Coordinator has a bachelor’s degree with probation, social work, mental/behavioral health or job related experience working with kids and families. Computer skills are needed and successful applications must have a valid Ohio driver’s license.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of court systems, community resources, dependency/treatment court best practices and national standards, understanding of the Ohio revised code, child welfare practices and terms, effective verbal and written communication, demonstrated conflict resolving skills and the ability to remain professional in all dealings with colleagues, participants, community partners and the public.
